Great advice from Hugh on saving time on blogging and, for me the most important advice of all, on not feeling guilty about not keeping up with reading and commenting on every blog you follow.

I can’t see a link here, Mary, but I am sure they are good tips. 🙂
I am still someone who reads and comments on every blog I follow, but then I do have a lot of free time…
Best wishes, Pete.

Just saw the link lower down. Note to self. “Scroll down”. 🙂

I was just about to reply telling you where the link is when you found it! I’m struggling at the moment and I know it’s daft. No one is forcing me to read every post by every blogger I follow and if I want to write new posts as well as work on the Goldfish memoir then I have to cut back somewhere – and learn not to feel guilty about it.

No need to worry about my posts, Mary. Life has to come first, and I never take anything about blogging personally. Some of my most frequent commenters from six months ago have just stopped completely. But I still see their comments on other blogs, so maybe they just got bored with mine? Not an issue at all, just part of the great world of blogging.

So many great blogs, so little time. Every now and then I have to back off and just write. But it is hard.

It is hard but I think I’m going to have to take a break or learn to be much more disciplined. I think there’s the fear that if I take a complete break to write more posts no one will read them if I’ve not been reading theirs! Nuts, I know.

Thanks so much for sharing my recent post, Mary.
Please do take some time out for yourself and not feel guilty about not being able to blog the way you used to. I’ve taken a few blogging breaks and they have always helped me. If anybody does mind because you haven’t visited their blog and liked and left any comments, then just unfollow them. They are really not worth worrying about. Fortunately, I don’t think there are many like that.
Oh, and when I came back from my blogging breaks, the people I most hoped would still be there, were. 😀
Take good care of yourself.

I am going to try to be a bit less hard on myself when I can’t get round everyone’s blog leaving a comment. Thanks, Hugh. I’m already feeling a bit less hamster-like 🙂
