MarySmith’sPlace ~ The Celebration

We will be celebrating Marys life.

The public memorial celebration for Mary will be held at the Ernespie House Hotel, Castle Douglas on January 14th 2022 at 1.30pm, following a short private cremation.

Kindly email us at maryscelebration@stewartry.co.uk as soon as possible if you are able attend to help us ensure a safe event. On Mary’s request, there is no formal dress code.

We hope you will be able join us for a celebration of Marys life, in person or watch the live stream online at: https://www.stewartry.co.uk/mmc.html

  1. Thank you both for your kindness in inviting everyone. I am sure it will be a joyous day, as her life was so full of joy there is much to celebrate.
Sadly, I live too far away, in Norfolk. But I will be thinking of you on that day, and dear Mary of course.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. Celebrate Mary’s life? Absolutely!! Every single day. Her physical body may have taken leave, but her life remains in the hearts, souls, and minds of everyone and anyone with whom she connected. Considering she led a full, rich life here on earth, I imagine there are more people than you will ever know who celebrate their life connection with Mary all the time! Here in the State of Michigan, in the U.S.A., Mary is a smile maker of the first water. 🙂

  3. Thanks to both of you. I keep thinking of Mary and Llamas, not those in Afghanistan, but some here in Dumfries and Galloway that I met doing a workshop with Mary and Margaret. Mary was inspiring, encouraging me and others with her determined persistence and gentle smile. I can’t attend but shall celebrate from a distance on the live stream.

  7. Thank you for allowing us to share in the celebration of Mary’s life. I only knew Mary ‘virtually’ through our blogs and a shared love of books so it was lovely to learn more about her past. Hers certainly was a life well lived. To Mary! xx
