Yes, there were lots in the woods. We were so busy photographing them we and various plants we missed the turning and had a much longer walk back to the car than intended – but worth it.
Mmhm, that’s different from what Keith Kirk suggests. Whatever it is, I’m not going to eat it π
I see you have started a new serial on your blog – not had a chance to read it but I’ll get to it tomorrow. Delighted you’ve started writing again.
Nice fungi!

Thank you for sharing, Mary. I have no idea what that mushroom is called.

Someone on Facebook came up with a name, John – Lycoperdon umbrinum, which apparently is a kind of puffball. So now you know.

Thank you. I don’t suppose it would go well in a salad.

I have a feeling not, John. And I’m not going to try it. I know mushrooms are supposed to be good for the immune system but…

Thanks, Darlene. I really enjoyed our outing – and the hot chocolate at the visitor centre.

Google says the mushroom is this.

I’m not sure, but I searched on the photo.
Best wishes, Pete.

And a fairy – or other woodland creature – has clearly enjoyed chomping on the red toadstool in the first of the fungi images π

It has. The red ones look poisonous but probably only to humans.
